Plateforme PAM, le patrimoine appartient à tout le monde
La Direction régionale des affaires culturelles (DRAC) des Pays de la Loire a lancé le 5 juin 2023 la plateforme PAM (pour "le Patrimoine Appartient à tout le Monde"). Cette plateforme permet à chacun de déposer des photos dont il est l’auteur afin de partager avec le plus grand nombre ce qui relève à ses yeux de notre patrimoine. Cette banque d’images géoréférencées peut être consultée selon une entrée cartographique, iconographique ou thématique.

Following the restoration of its “jardins à la française” (French formal gardens), the Château de Chambord has now restored its Grande perspective Nord (North Grand Vista). Made possible thanks to the support of AXA France, this reinstatement is part of a whole series of works and improvements at Chambord in the run-up to its 500th anniversary in 2019.

Beyond the pooling of results (project design, programming and assessment), the focus was also on identifying recurring themes and highlighting lessons that could be learned.

The “Loire Valley” destination contract, which aims at promoting this destination to international visitors, was renewed for 3 years when it was signed at Matignon on 19 January in the presence of Pierre-Alain Roiron, president of the Centre-Loire Valley Tourist Board (CRT), Régine Catin, president of the Pays de la Loire Territoires d’Innovation Regional Agency, Mr Lemoyne, Minister of State, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Ms Geny-Stephann, Minister of State, attached to the Minister of Economy and Finance.

The “Loire Valley” destination contract, which aims at promoting this destination to international visitors, was renewed for 3 years when it was signed at Matignon on 19 January in the presence of Pierre-Alain Roiron, president of the Centre-Loire Valley Tourist Board (CRT), Régine Catin, president of the Pays de la Loire Territoires d’Innovation Regional Agency, Mr Lemoyne, Minister of State, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Ms Geny-Stephann, Minister of State, attached to the Minister of Economy and Finance.

On 13 December 2017, the jury for the “Envies de Loire” competition chose its winner. The Italian team, "La Loire en couleurs” (The Loire in colour), won the jury’s support with their development project to rediscover the Loire and better incorporate the river into the town.

They are the work of Charles Pensée, a French painter and draftsman who worked particularly on architectural depictions, and Alphonse Beaujoint, a draftsman and etcher who specialised in picturesque views. As part of the city has since been destroyed, their lithographs are a precious account of what Orléans could have been like before 1870.

The Fondation Marquise de Narros - Institut de France is the legatee of "La Colombière", a property on the banks of the Loire in Gennes-Val-de-Loire. The main purpose of the Chambord forest management is to ensure the long-term survival of the château's wooded setting, a gem of the French Renaissance dedicated to hunting. SNCF Gares & Connexions, under the scientific and technical supervision of the Centre-Val de Loire DRAC and with support from the Patrimoine Environnement association, led the restoration of 18 painted ceramic pictures decorating the indoor façades of Tours station, listed on the Additional Inventory of Historical Monuments.

The project enabled restoration of a piece of historical heritage set on the banks of the Loire and added to our knowledge of it – a perfect illustration of the Loire Valley World Heritage site’s values.

The study aims to provide information on peripheral urban growth. By choosing to focus on three very concrete cases, it combines a field approach with information supplied by local actors, inhabitants’ opinions and statistical observations in order to understand the phenomenon.

The “excellence” label rewarding quality of welcome and the wine tourism services was awarded to 21 tourist wine cellars audited in 2015.

Far from being solely intended for use by the visually impaired, they have attracted the attention of a great many visitors, younger ones in particular. The château’s guides, shop staff and reception personnel recently attended a three-day training course dispensed by a body specialising in cultural mediation and accessibility.

This project was supervised by professionals from the CEFP in the workshop of Bruno Perdriau, a marine carpenter based in Saint Germain sur Vienne, and Florian Messin, a head educator at the CPIE and coordinator of this project.

Loyal to its missions of artistic experimentation and dissemination of living art, the Olivier Debré Contemporary Creation Centre in Tours (CCC OD) has invited Lilian Bourgeat on Friday 4 September 2015 to launch the building project, as the very first stone is laid. Everyday objects taking on extraordinary dimensions have been placed there, symbolising the construction of the CCC OD. It is expected to open in autumn 2016.

On Saturday 11 July 2015, Marc Gricourt, Mayor of Blois, Christophe Degruelle, President of Agglopolys and Yves Le Breton, Prefect of Loir-et-Cher, representing the French Ministry for Culture and Communication, signed a new Cultural Pact. The French State, through its Ministry for Culture and Communication, and the City of Blois and Agglopolys are committing to keeping up their respective funding in favour of culture until 2017, and to continuing their cooperation regarding this shared ambition.

The largest gathering of rivercraft in Europe, this festival will be back on the Orléans riverbanks from 23 to 27 September 2015. On the programme: river demonstrations, trips along the Loire and the canal, Loire villages, rivers of France as well as a whole host of festivities and artistic events. This year, the Festival is paying tribute to the Vistula River (Poland) and the Dordogne Valley.

After a short introduction to the history of the city of Tours, Jean-Jacques Macaire gives you the chance to embark on 4 geological itineraries: the Pont Wilson bridge and the Loire, from Pont Wilson to the central train station, from the square in front of Saint-Gatien Cathedral to Aucard island and from the Faculty of Letters to Saint-Martin Basilica. This guide has been given the Loire Valley World Heritage stamp of approval.

Over time, the riverbasin unions have increasingly taken responsibility for the restoration of waterways. But upkeep of the riverbanks and bed is the duty of the owners of both banks (in the case of private waterways) or of the State (in the case of public-owned waterways). The Layon Aubance Louets Water Management and Development Plan (SAGE) is publishing a "residents' guide" giving practical advice and recalling the regulations for residents (owners and/or operators) who would like to undertake work at the water's edge.

The industrial, technological and scientific centre Terre des Sciences has partnered up with the well-known Végépolys competitive cluster to develop links between plant life and tourism with a view to promoting the vegetation sector in the eyes of locals and tourists alike – an economic activity in keeping with a rich history running from King René to the 19th century’s horticulturists and taking in the Loire navy, which linked the Valley to the world via the port of Nantes. Following initial action at Château d'Angers, fresh ideas and projects continue to abound.

Redundancy plan at CAUE49
On 20 July 2015, Maine-et-Loire’s Council for Architecture, Urban Planning and Environment (CAUE 49) General Assembly confirmed the decision to cut 13 of 19 jobs in the context of a 25% reduction in the Départemental Council’s subsidy for 2016.
