The Standing Centre for Environmental Initiatives (CPIE) Touraine-Val de Loire is pledging to take tangible action to restore the valley’s low-lying landscapes by taking part in a tree-planting campaign. Aims: restore the green corridors and ecological continuities in low-lying valley areas to combat diffuse pollution.
The areas concerned are those of the Vienne basin downstream and its tributaries (including the Veude, Négron, Quincampoix and Manse), the Authion catchment area (including the Changeon, Lane, Authion, Lathan and Couasnon) and the Indre valley.
2,500 trees of six different species (Common oak, Common alder, Common walnut, Black poplar, Goat willow and White willow) will be supplied to local authorities, farmers and households showing an interest in planting them.
The closing date for registrations is 15 September 2018.
