Since mid-November, Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park (PNR LAT) has been holding consultations and discussions with a view to revising its charter – the agreement which gives concrete form to the protection and sustainable development strategy developed for its territory. The new agreement will lay down the guidelines for the PNR's action over a 15-year period, from 2023 to 2038.

Ten meetings with residents were organised between mid November and mid December. These were an open call for everyone to come and give their opinion about their living environment so as to paint a five-faceted picture (habitat, food, resources, community living) and put forward ideas concerning the future of the territory. The PNR has since uploaded the summaries of these meetings on the website dedicated to the revision of its charter.

These joint thought processes will inform the prochaines rencontres thé matiques - Nouvelle fenê tre">next thematic meetings due to take place in Montsoreau on the park's premises, from January to May. Ten groups in which residents, elected officials, association representatives, institutional and private stakeholders will take part are scheduled to meet on three occasions, to work on one of the PNR's ten theme proposals:

  • The future of our landscapes
  • Living in our territory
  • Nature and People
  • Farming practices and food
  • The forest: a versatile resource
  • Climate change, energy transition
  • Economic wealth and jobs
  • Water, our common good
  • Enlightened residents and citizens
  • All-round involvement and cooperation

Each group's proposals will be submitted to the PNR's elected officials in the autumn of 2019. Those selected will then be incorporated into the new charter that will determine the PNR's action for 2023-2038.
