On Sunday 9 October from 2pm to 6pm, the Maison de Loire in Montlouis-sur-Loire is organising a free Open Day to celebrate its 30th anniversary, with workshops, exhibitions and activities. This is a great opportunity to find out about the key contribution this association makes to teaching about the Loire and its protection.

"These past 30 years we have been taking you out observing, touching, listening, collecting, visiting, tasting, cycling, paddling, sketching, taking photos and even dissecting...

I think it would not be pretentious of us to state with pride that the promises made 30 years ago by the founders of the Maison de Loire have been kept. Thanks to our efforts, thousands of young and old have become more mindful of and more interested in the river.

The Maison de Loire's motto will always be "unveiling the wonders of the Loire", for we can only protect what we know.”

Thierry Poli, Maison de Loire coordinator
