The Cligman donation at Château de Tours

In June 2016, the City of Tours announced the proposal regarding the legacy of some 1,200 artworks from the manufacturer, Léon Cligman and his wife Martine, which would be on loan from the State to the City of Tours. Although initially planned for the Fine Arts Museum, the works are now to be displayed in Château de Tours, with the donors' agreement.
The collection is made up of paintings, sculptures and drawings, including works by major artists such as Corot, Toulouse-Lautrec, César, Degas and Delacroix. The selection and arrangements for this collection are still to be defined with the Ministry for Culture and Communication.
