In 2019, the Centre-Val de Loire Region will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance. To prepare for these celebrations properly, a call for certification of initiatives has been launched in order to develop proposals in the region, initiate a dialogue between the past and the future and support ingenuity. Applications must be submitted before 30 April at 12 pm.
This is the title of the Centre-Val de Loire Region’s celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance, a long period stretching from the 14th century to the middle of the 17th century, a primarily European area marked by the stirrings of globalisation and a new relationship with knowledge transformed by the printing revolution and the spread of humanism. This event involves a whole host of stakeholders in the region and beyond, including Mission Val de Loire.
Through historic celebrations looking to the future, ingenuity and creativity, the Region hopes to unite energies and regions around the major themes of the Renaissance: heritage, art and literature, music, gardens, technological revolutions and sciences, architecture, craftsmanship, gastronomy, and, more broadly, the art of living.
Artists, architects, researchers, philosophers, designers and humanists are called upon to question our culture’s founding principles and their intangibility and to celebrate this anniversary by painting the Centre-Val de Loire Region in the colours of the Renaissance.
A call for certification of initiatives was launched a few days ago in order to develop new artistic forms, interactions between sectors and cultural, tourist, scientific and heritage destinations and thus enable an exceptional programme to be put together.
Through this call for certification, the Region is striving to bring out interdisciplinary, sustainable, citizen proposals enabling a dialogue between the eras.
It is aimed at regional socio-economic, tourist and cultural stakeholders, associations, local authorities (municipalities, inter-municipalities, etc.), companies and their groups, public education and research bodies and schools, and citizen collectives.
