After a short introduction to the history of the city of Tours, Jean-Jacques Macaire gives you the chance to embark on 4 geological itineraries: the Pont Wilson bridge and the Loire, from Pont Wilson to the central train station, from the square in front of Saint-Gatien Cathedral to Aucard island and from the Faculty of Letters to Saint-Martin Basilica. This guide has been given the Loire Valley World Heritage stamp of approval.
The city of Tours lies at the heart of the UNESCO-listed Loire Valley World Heritage site. It extends out along the sweeping valley common to the Loire and Cher rivers, which run closely side by side before they meet, and over the gentle slopes and plateaux to the north and south.
