Training courses, audits and a regional quality system are the tools used to support Loire Valley sites in their efforts to boost quality. The final objective is to be awarded the national Tourism Quality label for tourist attractions.
Training plan
The training plan implemented to
assist the sites and upskill quality managers aims to:
-
develop a quality management
culture;
-
master the quality
referential.
The five-day training programme
taught by quality engineer François Vedrenne comprises the
following:
-
quality fundamentals and tourism-specific elements (
day completed)
-
the study of commitments to visitors in the quality
referential (
day completed)
-
the study of management tools: the visitor
service/satisfaction loop, skills management, visitor risk
analysis, and so on (
6 November 2008
at the Château Royal
d'Amboise)
-
setting up the documentary system: improvement form, staff
induction leaflet, training plan, and so on (18 November at the
Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire)
-
quality tools for tourism and site self-assessment (18
November at the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire)
Auditing
A consultation is due to be launched
soon to recruit one or more firms which will
carry out external audits of sites which are candidates for the
Tourism Quality label. Using the
Loire
Valley
sites quality referential, this firm
will carry out mystery visits to verify "visitor commitments" and
an interview with the site management for the "organisational
provisions" section.
Regional system
The system concerns
18 major
Loire
Valley
sites, but also other volunteer
sites from the Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret and Indre
departments.
Other departments are also welcome to
join.
