The City of Architecture’s public courses for 2014/2015 will be devoted to the diversity of humanity’s heritages as recognised by the UNESCO World Heritage List: historical monuments and buildings, outstanding environmental sites and resources, new heritages, etc. Well-known actors on the politico-institutional scene, experts, candidacy promoters and international observers will be illustrating the major developments in inscription on the List and updating participants on the international issues involved in granting heritage status.

The series will focus on 3 major themes:

I / Building peace in the minds of humanity
II / A corpus without borders. Identifying, reserving, protecting
III / Preserving diversity in order to share the universal

Subjects will include:

  • Bridges for the 21st century: daily life in historic urban centres (Bordeaux - Dresde) by Michèle Larüe-Charlus, Sebastian Redecke and Alain Marinos,
  • Cultural landscapes in the meeting of nature and culture, by Yves Luginbühl and Michèle Prats,
  • Living together in (great) heritage landscapes, by Isabelle Longuet and Xavier Bailly.
