The TV programme "Vues sur Loire" (France 3 channel) looked at two subjects in relation with the Véron, starting out from the town's eco-museum, with a particular focus on the artist Max Ernst to whom a local exhibition has been devoted.
The Véron eco-museum, in Savigny-en-Véron (Indre-et-Loire), can be found at the point where the Rivers Loire and Vienne meet, between Chinon and Saumur. Conservation and reproduction are its key concerns, in keeping with animals' natural rhythms. Sylvie sets off to explore part of the Véron peninsula through the Eco-museum's actions, stopping off at the farm, the wooded farmland, the shipyard, the stone carving workshop and the bread oven along the way.
Having just been awarded the Venice Biennale Grand Prize, Max Ernst decided to move to Huismes, in the Véron. He would live there from 1955 to 1968. Tour of his former home with the present-day owner, who has turned it into a documentation and exhibition centre entirely in honour of this prominent figure of Surrealism.
"Vues sur Loire" is a programme devoted to Loire culture in the broad sense, broadcast on the local France 3 channels in the Centre, Pays de Loire and Burgundy regions.
