In the context of its territorial policy through the New Regional Contract (NCR), the Pays de la Loire region has created a grant for supporting projects that help to preserve and enhance the Loire Valley World Heritage. Ten projects have therefore received these grants for a total amount worth €763,735 in 3 pays in the Maine-et-Loire and Angers urban area.
The projects put forward by the local authorities and validated by the Regional Council as recommended by the Mission Val de Loire concern innovative, high-quality developments that enhance the site's rich heritage and landscape. For the most part, they intend to renovate public areas and banks of the Loire and restore viewpoints and scenic spots over the Valley's great landscape.
The aim is to support implementation of the UNESCO site management plan by relying on the consulting engineering of the Mission Val de Loire and its partners – the Agence d’urbanisme de l’agglomération angevine, CAUE 49, Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Natural Park and CORELA.
