Montjean-sur-Loire, one of Maine-et-Loire’s most popular tourist resorts, is known for its famous barge port, which, in days gone by, was the scene of intense economic activity. With a view to developing and sharing its historical and cultural heritage, the municipality decided to create a discovery park focusing on Loire rivercraft. The result, Cap Loire, has been open to the public since May 2011.
Visitors can board the Cap Vert, enjoy a permanent exhibition on rivercraft of the Loire and stroll through the them-based gardens. The park also accommodates educational rooms and the municipality’s Tourist Office.
The 11,000 m² of unspoiled nature that surround Cap Vert ensure a pleasant time is had by one and all.
