For its next issue, Encre de Loire, the literary magazine for the Pays de la Loire region, is producing a special supplement on Literature and the Loire with the assistance of the Mission Val de Loire.
The Loire as muse and inspiration is an artistic figure recognised in many disciplines including painting, photography and so on. The literary activity of the Loire is also thriving, now as it has done in the past. Who are the writers of the Loire valley? What influence does the river have on their work? Some of the highlights of this special edition will be a historical overview of literary works dedicated or linked to the Loire, the relationship between literary creation, regions and landscapes and contributions from contemporary authors (Pierre Michon, Jean Rouaud and Jean-Marie Laclavetine among others). The Mission Val de Loire is planning to publish this supplement as a separate booklet for distribution to professionals in the Centre region including teachers, academics and so on. The booklet will also be available for download shortly from www.valdeloire.org .
