After Aquitaine, the Loire Valley is the second region to have a Vinopôle (wine centre) network, officially launched on 17 December 2013. The Vinipôle Centre Val de Loire network is intended to develop research, transfer and training activities in the field of wine growing and producing, as much in regards to its technical as its socio-economical aspects.
Supported by the Association Régionale Filière Vin, it covers 25 stakeholders in the sector; The wine-making profession, regional establishments for higher and technical teaching, technical institutions and research laboratories.
It will take place in the form of an experimental platform in Amboise covering the unit of the French institute of vines and wines (today set up in Tours), the offices of the Touraine wine inspection committee and the regional representation of Independent Wine Growers of France on the site of the Professional Agricultural College of Amboise.
