Following a preliminary study piloted by the Regional SEM on behalf of the CCO, the Region has commissioned the Société Publique Régionale des Pays de la Loire to carry out the operation, which comprises construction of an energy and technical pole along with overall rehabilitation of the Hôtel Saint Lazare. Objective: rationalisation of the entire structure, envisaging energy supply renovation throughout.
With regard to means of heating, the wood-fired boiler solution has been selected for ecological and economic reasons. Some hundred square metres of solar panels may be brought in to complete the installations. A study has been carried out with the Chief Architect of Historical Monuments in order to determine conditions for incorporating the panels into this listed site.
The technical pole for heating the monument has a budget of around 6M€, with delivery planned for the autumn of 2012. The solar panels would be installed on the Hôtel Saint Lazare roof (with completion of work planned for the spring of 2013).
