Gérard Fauvet, an amateur wildlife photographer, has devoted his book "Instants de Loire" — which contains almost 200 images — to the fauna of the Loire. Some of his photos are currently on display at the Loire Observatory until 29 September.
Gérard Fauvet discovered photography in his youth and chose animals as his main subjects. Over the years, his reportages have produced over 21,000 images, some of which can be accessed via his website http://www.animauxdefrance.fr/ .
A resident of the Loir-et-Cher département, he decided to create a work that would put the spotlight on the royal river’s iconic species, including the osprey, beaver and tern.
Gérard Fauvet is also exhibiting a selection of his photos at the Loire Observatory in La Chaussée-Saint-Victor.
“Instants de Loire” is on sale in Blois and by request from the author at: gf.fauvet@orange.fr.
