As part of the hundredth anniversary of the restoration of the Renaissance Gardens by Joachim Carvallo, Henri Carvallo, the current owner, wanted to design this garden taking inspiration from the designs of his great-grandfather, who did not have the time to put them into practice. The inauguration will take place on 20 June 2008.

In designing this garden, Henri Carvallo asked for the assistance of Louis Benech, one of the leading French landscape architects, Alix de Saint Venant, a landscape architect and owner of the Valmer château, and Arnaud de Saint Jouan, chief architect with Monuments Historiques. The team of gardeners at the Villandry château, led by head gardener Patrick Chaudoy, took full responsibility for the technical work.

This summer the public will have the opportunity to explore this space, which fully complements the other gardens and is based on a sustainable form of agriculture requiring little irrigation and in which natural plant treatment techniques can be used.
