French cities of world heritage and tourism. Protection, Management and Enhancement

This study day is being held on 27th May 2010 from 9.30am to 5.30pm at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris by the UNESCO Chair “Culture, Tourism and Development” of the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, with the assistance of the France Unesco Convention and ICOMOS France.
The cities of Arles, Avignon, Bordeaux, Chartres, Le Havre,
Lyons, Nancy, Provins and Strasbourg have agreed to share their own
experiences. Organised discussions and debates with the public will
be held during the day.
This study day is the first in a cycle of annual meetings on
the diverse relationships between the sites included in the UNESCO
World Heritage List and tourism.
