From 16 to 26 April 2015, no fewer than 27 journalists representing 6 different nationalities were welcomed for 7 press trips to promote the cultural season on Francis I and the Renaissance in the Loire Valley to French and foreign tourists: they represented the Spanish, French, English, German, Belgian and Italian press – and 2 Spanish bloggers joined in too.

Newsletters were also sent out to a long list of contacts, and media tours were held at the beginning of the year.

In total, over 3,800 international journalists will have heard the message first-hand.

Jointly organised by the Centre Val de Loire Regional Tourism Board, Tourist Development Agencies for Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret, the Pays de la Loire Regional Agency and Mission Val de Loire, the point of all this promotional work was to reap immediate media coverage – which has already been widespread – so that potential tourists and visitors can hear about it as soon as possible.
