The association Artrodytespace, which manages the Orbière troglodytic site, has launched a call for donations until 15 January 2020 to raise funds for restoring the Hélice terrestre.
This spiral sculptural space, carved out of the tuffeau stone in the delegated municipality of Saint-Georges-des-Sept-Voies (Gennes-Val-de-Loire), was created between 1989 and 1993 by the visual artist Jacques Warminski.
25 years have taken their toll on some parts (timber cladding and support structure), which have had to be taken down.
The fund-raising campaign is aimed initially at financing reconstruction of the framework, which will then support the new timber cladding.
Ensemble, sauvons l'Hélice terrestre, l'oeuvre de Jacques Warminski
