The Chinon, Vienne and Loire Community of Municipalities wants to find new momentum for Seuilly abbey, a community facility right in the heart of the La Rabelaisie project. The call for expression of interest is a consultation procedure for project leaders. The aim of the operation is to enable stakeholders interested in setting up a project on this site, to come up with and promote their proposals, which if possible should be innovative either in terms of developing built heritage for tourism or cultural purposes, or in the field of education.

Its objective is to develop proposals, ideas or concepts which will then be able to inspire methods of intervention, with the choice of a project being able to be set up there long term and a future delegated management method for Seuilly abbey.

Interested organisations and individuals are invited to send the Community of Municipalities an application proposing the initiative by 15 June 2017

Context

Created in January 2014, the Chinon, Vienne and Loire Community of Municipalities (CCCVL) is currently made up of 18 municipalities, competence in tourism is included in its articles of association. In this context, it manages tourist facilities, including a building listed as a historical monument called "Abbaye de Seuilly" (Seuilly Abbey).

Seuilly Abbey is a former religious building, listed as a historical monument, its abbatial church has completely disappeared. Located 15km from Chinon, the centre city of the Community of Municipalities, in the centre of a village with a population of 370 residents, it is now a tourist and cultural location whose potential could be developed.
