Bernard Tobie, Professor of History, President of the Carrefour des Troglodytes Anjou-Touraine-Poitou (CTATP) and prominent expert of troglodytism, died in the early hours of 8 May 2018 after a long illness, at the age of 72.
Troglodyte villages are one of the extraordinary expressions of Loire heritage. Rising to become one of the foremost experts in France on troglodytism, Bernard Tobie worked tirelessly to defend, take into account and showcase this invaluable asset in terms of the environment, tourism and the economy.
