The semi-troglodyte seigneurial chapel at the Manoir de la Guépière in Nazelles-Négron (Indre-et-Loire) has been badly damaged over the years and is on the verge of crumbling completely, for the rock vault has collapsed and the south wall could fall in at any time. The association "Urgences Patrimoine", founded in 2014, has decided to step in to help by signing a fundraising agreement with the current owners. The initiative "Une pierre pour l’histoire” (A stone for history) lets donors play a part in saving this heritage by funding virtual stones for €20 apiece.
€25,000 is needed if the chapel is to be saved. The work to be carried out as funds are raised is as follows: stonework, fresco restoration and the roofing.
