2 new prizes for Fontevraud

Enterprises & Environment Prize 2014

Fontevraud Royal Abbey has just won this prize in the “Management and initiatives for Sustainable Development” category, special “Public Heritage” prize. The distinction, awarded by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy and ADEME, rewards the ambition and results of its “Fontevraud Sustainable City” initiative. 

Following a number of awards bearing on creation of Lyon’s Pôle Energétique, this new distinction, attributed in Lyon on 2 December 2014, highlights the exemplary nature of actions carried out at the Royal Abbey in reconciling natural and cultural heritage and demonstrating that the environment is an asset for the development of this outstanding monument.

The 2014 European Hotel Design Awards

Nominated in the “adaptive reuse” and “interior design” categories, Fontevraud L’Hôtel was awarded the “Architecture – adaptive reuse” prize at a ceremony held in London on 25 November 2014. The prize rewards the level of excellence and coherence of a project that forms a new chapter in an ongoing architectural epic. 

The project was completed thanks to untiring collaborative work on the part of Fontevraud’s teams, architects and designers; it was entirely created by regional enterprises.
