The purpose of these Territorial Meetings is to shore up the development of a shared culture where the values of the World Heritage listing are taken on board, across the board. They are destined for all local stakeholders who work in the landscape, heritage and tourism sectors.

Background

The Territorial Conference held back in November 2018 laid bare the need to update Mission Val de Loire's governance plan and to go back to the various local areas within the perimeter to explain what the Mission does, share the guidelines and showcase the initiatives carried out by local authorities and stakeholders alike.

These meetings follow a similar vein to mediation meetings and local authority meetings , and are aimed at gathering all stakeholders together in the same place to encourage discussion and debate within a broader setting.

They also put into practice the practical guide to the Loire Valley World Heritage and spatial planning . Published in 2017, this guide sets out to share a method for taking the stakes associated with the World Heritage into account in all major projects across the territory.

Aim

Across the site, hold a series of discussion sessions bringing together a variety of participants, working in connection with the Mission's remit and local areas.

Target participants

Elected representatives, local authority technicians, community stakeholders, etc.

How

Organise 2 sessions of 5 meetings throughout the perimeter: the first in April 2019 for a presentation of the Mission's guidelines and a second in November 2019 for a presentation of the programme for 2020.

Expected outcome

  • Clearer understanding of what Mission Val de Loire does.
  • Sharing of the 2019-2021 guidelines following the 2018 territorial conference.
  • Showcasing of the initiatives and procedures taken across the various local areas.
