During a workshop held in February and March 2018, 65 engineering students from the Spatial Planning & Environment Department of Tours University's École Polytech studied the effects of reintegrating watercourses into the development of French towns and cities.

The results have been presented in a web documentary, designed as part of a module on cultural, environmental and housing issues linked with the Loire. The aim was to look at how promotion of the Loire riverbanks in the Tours conurbation is concealing or excluding other uses (social, cultural, community-based, etc.).

Viewers of the web documentary are invited to wander along the banks of the Loire to gain a clearer insight into the different interactions, practices and uses that have been taking place around this natural resource since 1960. Nine chapters illustrate the stakeholder interactions along this stretch, which is no longer regarded as a boundary between the city and the river, but rather as a driver for growth common to the "city and the river".
