Territorial conference, 3 September 2004: debating the fundamentals

The Conférence territoriale (territorial conference) met on 3 September 2004 in Orléans under the chairmanship of André Viau, prefect of the Centre region and coordinator for the Plan Loire Grandeur Nature (the environmental management plan for the river). Also present were the main elected representatives from the local authorities within the Val de Loire - World Heritage site. Items on the agenda included the Landscape guide, using illumination to enhance the Val de Loire and the Charter of Excellence for outdoor publicity: all topics to spark off a lively debate centred on shared concerns about sustainable development.
