The Mission Val-de-Loire is expanding its range of exhibitions available to hire free of charge. The most recent addition, which was made available towards the end of 2018, relates to the topic of fishing on the Loire, a very ancient practice that has characterised the lives of local residents for centuries.
This practice still continues; however, other issues have arisen concerning the shared use of a single watercourse for various fishing practices and for other purposes by a variety of different stakeholders. Moreover, the aquatic environment, when subjected to various pressures and changes, tends to undergo vigorous evolution.
Without attempting to be exhaustive, this exhibition has been developed by the Mission Val-de-Loire on behalf of the Centre-Val-de-Loire and Pays-de-la-Loire Regions, with the aim of questioning and challenging some of the responses which are no doubt present within the attitudes of all the river’s current and future users, and not just those of its anglers.
