The School for Nature and Landscape (INSA Centre-Loire Valley) and Joint Lab 7324 CITERES (CNRS, University of Tours)-Zone Atelier Loire are launching a call for applications for the international symposium that they are organising in Blois on 16 and 17 March 2016. This symposium is part of the Nature and Landscape 2016 biennial event, "Arbre(s)" (Tree(s)) planned by the Loir-et-Cher Council of Architecture, Urban Planning and the Environment (CAUE), Agglopolys and Centre-Loire Valley National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA).

This symposium sets out to bring together researchers who are working on tree-related issues, alongside stakeholders involved in the management and protection of wooded landscapes. Precedence will more specifically be given to young researchers' work and doctoral work as a way of addressing newly developed themes.

Trees are a vital component of landscapes in urban and rural areas alike. In recent years thought has been given to green and blue corridors, the living environment and ways in which plant heritage or biodiversity in relation with trees are managed and protected. Such approaches have been taken in research and in practice, and have enabled key ecological, economic and sociocultural challenges to be identified.
