The Centre Region and the départements of Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher are launching a collaborative initiative around the theme of innovation in the field of tourism, by creating this Cluster. When it takes off, it will activate a "hard" core of motivated stakeholders, principally concerning tourist visitor sites, both private and public, which share the same issues and objectives: castles, historic buildings, zoos, museums, gardens, etc.
François Bonneau, President of the Centre Region, Frédéric Thomas, President of the Indre-et-Loire General Council and Maurice Leroy, President of the Loir-et-Cher General Council, signed the partnership agreement on Monday 26 May 2014 at the regional Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire.
The cluster aims to create a dynamic of collaboration based on 5 themes:
An organiser is being recruited to coordinate and drive theimplementation of the Tourism Cluster. This post is backed by the CRT and co-funded by the Regional Council (50%), the Indre-et-Loire General Council (25%) and the Loir-et-Cher General Council (25%).
This initiative is one of the key priorities of the Regional Sustainable Tourism Strategy, making the Loire Valley seem like a perfectly legitimate region to be involved in an experimentation process based on innovation in visitor sites.
