The Loire and wine

To supply the Parisian wine merchants, the land on the banks of the Loire was covered in vines. They took over all of the hillsides. Thus, in the mid-19th century, vineyards occupied 550 ha in Châteauneuf, providing a living for over a third of its population.

Visionary City

Designed in two parts – one historical, the other prospective -, the exhibition pays homage to the historian and critic Michel Ragon, who, in his works entitled Où vivrons-nous demain? (Where shall we live tomorrow?) (1963) and Prospective et Futurologie (Prospective and Futurology) (1978), led people to discover the challenges of experimental architecture at the heart of the Frac Centre collection.
