Writing the Loire (Écrire la Loire)

Published on 11 October 2018 - Updated 26 October 2018

“Écrire la Loire” is a unique book outlining the work of Jacques Riby, painter and sculptor, who made the Loire his own and an arena for him to express his work through the creation of floating objects. In this book, the artist considers the decisive influence that the river has always had on his life’s work. This, however, is not so much about his own personal voyage but about inviting everyone to re-examine the intimate link, perhaps even deeply buried, or of which we are not even aware, that connects us with the Loire – with our Loire.

The work of Jacques Riby offers a sensitive evocation combining poetry and plastic arts as it revels in the wonder of the river and its landscapes.
