This new viticultural skills cluster aims to contribute to the regional sector’s dynamism and competitiveness. It should enable development of research, transfer and training activities in the vitivinicultural field. The network possesses a building in Amboise, which was inaugurated on 7 July 2015.

4 theme-based groups have been formed:

  • Sustainable Viticulture
  • Wines & Terroirs
  • Vineyard Economy
  • Vitivinicultural Training Programmes

Main objectives:

  • fostering concerted action leading to better knowledge of the sector and its concerns, with a view to developing tools directly benefiting present and future wine professionals and improving the viticultural sector’s competences and competitiveness.
  • fostering concertation and emergence of collaborative projects between professionals and scientific and technological bodies.
  • fostering technological, socioeconomic and educational innovation by involving the whole of the regional sector.

The Loire Valley’s winegrowing areas are served by a range of R&D and Training bodies, in Nantes, Angers and Montreuil-Bellay among other places. The inauguration of VinOpôle Centre-Loire Valley promises real continuity in support of the Centre-Loire Valley Region’s viticultural sector.
