'Tis the season for water outings in the Pays de la Loire

35 water outings were organised this year in the region by some 20 participating structures. Despite a rainy start to the season, participant numbers are still on the rise overall.

Over 2,600 customers have come to enjoy these activities, on the Loire, the Erdre, the coast or in the Vendée marshland, earning the watersports centres a joint turnover of more than 60,000 euros. This reflects a 47% increase in visitor numbers compared with 2011.

The "star" products of this season are the outings in canoe-kayaks and old sailing ships. The various outings put on by the Anjou and Vendée départements are enjoying a clear increase in participant numbers - promising a total renewal of the range of activities on offer for 2013.
