As the cradle of the Plantagenet dynasty and former capital of the Dukes of Anjou and the "Good King René", the town of Angers is above all the setting for its castle and famous Apocalypse Tapestry. But it is also a town today that showcases a resolutely contemporary architecture in a great many of its neighbourhoods (including Saint-Serge and les Hauts de Saint-Aubin). This guide invites you to come and explore Angers, its history, its museums, its architecture and its landscapes.

Five walks are described for the public:

  • the historical centre,
  • Over-Maine,
  • the town centre from Place du Ralliement to the gardens,
  • an urban crossing from Saint-Laud station to the new neighbourhood of Les Hauts-de-Saint-Aubin
  • a cycle ride from île Saint-Aubin to île de Béhuard on the Loire.
