"The Loire in all its states" short story competition

Published on 31 August 2023

The associations Îles'Liens and Les Romanciers Nantais are organising a short story competition in celebration of the Loire, from its source all the way to its estuary: "The Loire in all its states". Closing date for entries: 30 June 2019

As a cultural initiative open to everyone, this short story competition gives the Loire a starring role in magical, poetic or historical fiction: whether the river provides a gentle or stormy backdrop, or a setting for encounters, journeys or navigation...

The competition is open to all residents of the 12 départements through which the Loire flows, from ages 12 and up. The short stories should be no longer than 4 pages (10,000 characters). The prizes will be awarded in December 2019.

Pens at the ready to write about the Loire!

Closing date for entries: 30 June 2019
