The Loire heritage is often showcased during the series "Vues sur Loire" and "Paysages" on the TV channel France 3. On 10 October 2015, France 5's travel magazine "Echappées Belles" paid a visit to the Loire Valley.

Echappées Belles

France 5's travel magazine devoted 90 minutes to the Loire Valley. From Chambord to Angers, Jérôme Pitorin unveiled the Loire Valley to viewers through its landscapes, heritage and an array of encounters.

This programme was put together by various stakeholders involved in promoting regional and interregional tourism. The Centre-Loire Valley Regional Tourist Board worked together with the Pays de la Loire Regional Agency to broadcast this glowing tribute to the Loire Valley.

In return for this assistance, three extracts will be available on the new website www.valdeloire-france.com

"Vues sur Loire"

The programme "Vues sur Loire" (Views over the Loire) is devoted to Loire culture in the broad sense and broadcast on the France 3 channel in the Centre, Pays de Loire and Burgundy regions.

Here are two recent programmes:

  • Balade en Rabelaisie (Stroll through Rabelais country) invites viewers to indulge in the pleasures that so inspired Rabelais.

Also worthy of note is the documentary "Un pont entre deux fleuves" (A bridge between two rivers) directed by Dimitrie Iordanesco. Co-produced by TGA Production and France Télévisions, with input from the National Centre for Cinematography and Animated Image, this film sets out to discover the Vistula while forging ties between Polish and Loire boatfolk.
With Poland as the guest of honour at the Loire Festival in Orléans, this was the perfect opportunity to learn about some striking similarities with its cousin the Loire. Both rivers share a common history and comparable morphology (they are almost exactly the same length: 1,012 and 1,047 km).

"Paysages"

This programme on landscapes has recently featured:

  • Le triangle d'or viticole (The golden triangle of winemaking) interprets the landscape between river, land and vineyards.
  • CAUE provides guidance to help make sense of the tangled web of construction advice.
  • Pêcheurs de Loire turns its attention to professional river fisherfolk, and especially those who work on the Loire.
  • Urbaffect : le paysage affectif looks at our relationship with the landscape and the sensitive approach we have in its regard.
  • La Loire à Vélo , 800 kilometres of cycle paths and country lanes which, from Saint Nazaire to Cuffy in the Cher, meander through Loire landscapes.
