The Châteaux de la Loire meet the French press

On 16 May 2008, the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine in Paris played host to this unprecedented initiative undertaken by the administrators of the leading Loire Valley heritage sites, private and public, and local authorities, piloted by the Regional Tourism Committee with the financial support of Mission Val de Loire.
The press conference was an opportunity to present to
approximately forty national journalists from the general media and
specialist tourism and heritage publications:
- The excellence approach taken by leading sites. Three
studies are ongoing: multisite pass, accessibility and
mediation.
- Special events for the 2008 season in the Châteaux de
la Loire
The speeches by François Bonneau, President of the Centre
Regional Authority and of Mission Val de Loire, François
Dumon, vice-President of the Centre Regional Authority responsible
for tourism, and Alain Beignet, Chairman of the Centre Regional
Tourism Committee demonstrated the tremendous goodwill of the
Centre and Pays de la Loire Regional Authorities towards the
eighteen sites which have signed the charter of excellence.
An exhibition of photographs by Jean-Baptiste Leroux
highlighted the Châteaux, jewels in the heritage crown of the
landscapes of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Loire Valley.
