Saumur’s Municipal Archives are readying themselves to receive the deposit of the Brunel professional archives, comprising some 4000 plans and around a thousand files from the offices of Victor-Pierre Brunel, the grandfather; Pierre, the father; and Patrick, the son.

These three generations of architects started working in Saumur in the early years of the 20th century. Their creations include the Gratien-Meyer company buildings and the Cité des Moulins estate facing the château, as well as numerous townhouses, schools, business premises and social housing units.
