A number of Maisons de la Loire in the Centre Region are undergoing renovation – already completed in Montlouis-sur-Loire and soon to come in Belleville (outside the UNESCO-listed site) and Saint-Dyé.
On 20 October, the Maison de la Loire in Indre-et-Loire moved back into its renovated premises at 60 Quai Albert Baillet in Montlouis-sur-Loire. The premises now boast new exhibition areas, a laboratory, educational workshops and a library, enabling visitors to be received under the best possible conditions.
The “Pèle Mêle” exhibition mounted by lovers of the Loire inaugurated the renovated Maison from 20 October to 22 December 2012.
The Musée des Mariniers in Chouzé-sur-Loire also moved into new premises in 2012 – a clear sign of the present interest in centres for interpretation of the river and its heritages.
The Maison de la Loire in Loir-et-Cher, which is located in Saint-Dyé’s 18th-century former posthouse, is to be renovated throughout in 2014, with a visit itinerary focusing on discovery of the Loire’s landscapes, the way the river works, and the Saint-Dyé Quay in Chambord port.
