Rendez-Vous Troglos: Take two!

Following the success last June of the first event, the Carrefour Anjou Touraine Poitou association will organise the second "Rendez-Vous Troglos" on 12th and 13th June 2010, extending it to six counties in the Val de Loire: Maine-et-Loire, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Sarthe, Vienne and Deux-Sèvres. The concept will remain the same: exceptional opening of troglodytic sites.
Organised in 2009,
the first such event was much praised by the public and
press. The Salon Troglo organised in Turquant (south-west of
Tours), gathering together businesses specialising in the
reinforcement and development of caves, revealed the existence of a
genuine economic sector.
"Rendez-Vous Troglos" is on the way to becoming a major
regional cultural and tourist event, based on a simple but
federative concept and an original, identifying theme. It proves
that troglodytism is a source of appeal for the region, as well as
a dynamic economic vector.
Discussions are under way about the creation of a Regional
Innovation Platform on troglodytism.
