Preparation of periodic reports on the application of the World Heritage convention

The drafting of periodic reports must make it possible to ensure that the World Heritage convention is being implemented in the State party and includes the state of conservation of the World Heritage properties on its territory. It is organised every 6 years on a sub-regional basis and will be launched officially in June 2012 for Europe and North America. The report on the drafting of such Periodic reports for Europe will be presented at the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee in 2015.

In terms of the Loire Valley, this means:

supplying the retrospective statement of outstanding universal value (SOUV) on 1 February 2012.
responding to questionnaires (section 1 must be completed from a national perspective and section 2 for the properties) by 31 July 2013 at the latest.

At the request of central Government, the Management plans commission of the French World Heritage Properties Association organised 3 information meetings on retrospective SOUV between 2010 and 2011, which allowed for significant mobilisation and information work to be conducted.
