The touchscreen tablet offers nine approaches to taking the many towers interspersed along the 150 metres of restored ramparts by storm, immersing yourself in the fortress’s civil and military history, and getting into the skins of the great names that have marked the site’s history. As a special launch offer, the Fortress is making iPads available free of charge from 12 December 2013 to 2 January 2014.

The iPad is designed as a new mediation tool suited to all types of visitors: young people, the disabled and adults alike.

The Royal Fortress of Chinon multimedia visit guide is downloadable free from the Apple Store
