Initiated in 2014, the Résidence Ackerman + Fontevraud La Scène is mounting its first exhibition, set to open on 3 April in the Maison Ackerman cellars. Created by the artist Julien Salaud, the work “Fleuve Céleste” (Celestial River) takes over its setting, endowing it with a fragile and ephemeral stellar vault that is to be on exhibition for the next three years.
The new work is on exhibition in one of Maison Ackerman’s troglodytic cellars – a choice of venue made in consultation with the site’s technical team and taking full account of the form of the artist’s projected work as well as of effective use of the setting, the visit itinerary and areas open and closed to the public.
This is an ephemeral work and was designed as such. It is not meant to be a permanent fixture, but will be on exhibition for three full seasons.
