Design of light accommodation for cycling tourists

To meet the needs of cycling tourists on the move, in 2015 the Region set up a scheme to help "Accueil Vélo" accredited tourist hospitality hosts to design light accommodation options. While such options are to be found in the Loire Valley today, all tourist accommodation facilities across the region are able to access this aid until December 2016.
In 2015 €58,000 was granted to eight establishments for building some thirty "Abricyclos". These are mainly camp sites, but a youth hostel has also installed similar accommodation options.

"Open-air accommodation", a type of camp site, is the most popular form of accommodation for cycling tourists in the Centre-Loire Valley region.
