The colloquium is organised by the Laboratoire Collectivités Territoriales (Local Authorities Laboratory) and will be held at the University of Orleans on 7 and 8 December 2011, focusing on a subject that will be of interest to all at a time when drafting of the Val de Loire Management Plan is underway. The two days will provide an opportunity to raise questions on the features of Val de Loire’s heritage that go to make up the “cultural landscape” recognised by UNESCO since 2000, and on the legal issues involved in protection and enhancement of the area.
7 December: VAL DE LOIRE: HERITAGE AND IDENTITY
8 December: TOOLS FOR PROTECTION AND HERITAGE POLICY IN VAL DE LOIRE

Isabelle Longuet, Director of Mission Val de Loire, will also take part in the closing round table: What policies for Val de Loire’s cultural and natural heritage in the future, and for perpetuation of UNESCO listing?
Finally, the exhibition “Val de Loire’s cultural landscape” will be presented at the Sciences Education and Research Unit’s University Library, University of Orleans, from 28 November to 16 December 2011.
