Beaugency: new layout for welcoming the public to a natural Loire site

On 15 May 2009, a 4km trail on the nature spot of “Jardins Sauvages” was officially opened by Claude Bourdin (Mayor of Beaugency), Antoine Carré (Loiret County Council), Nino-Anne Dupieux (Chairman of the Conservatoire du Patrimoine Naturel) and Myriam Laydet (Val de Loire Mission).

The development of the site fits respectfully into the natural and cultural heritage. The information presented contains initiatives for landscape understanding and integration (information panels placed on the barge of the Tourist Information Office, transparent tables on the bridge and so on).

Two publications have been put together: an information leaflet (available since 15 May) and a 20-page booklet (summer 2009).

The partners of this project are the State, Centre Regional Council, Loiret County Council, Loire-Centre Caisse d'Epargne and Ligérienne Granulats.
