You will doubtless have noticed that the site which you are visiting has had a makeover. It is all about the new Loire Valley World Heritage logo.
Deliberately similar to the Loire Valley tourist brand , supported by the State, Atout France and the Centre and Pays de la Loire Regions, for improved coherence, it is intended to be used to spread the values of the listing. It is also used as a corporate logo for Mission Val de Loire.
The new graphic presentation, featuring on all of the materials published by Mission Val de Loire, of course incorporates the UNESCO mark of recognition. Like all other listed properties, the Loire Valley has a specific official logo. It comprises world heritage and UNESCO emblems, along with the name of the property and the year it was listed. This logo is not for open use - the UNESCO temple and the world heritage emblems are protected.
Mission Val de Loire wanted a new distinctive symbol so that the site could be better identified, made known to a wider public with increased ownership, and in order to make the official logo more readable.
Local authorities falling within the area of the site are deemed to be the administrators. In this capacity, they can use the official logo on a permanent basis for their corporate communication (letterhead, website, etc.).
It can be requested to hallmark any non-commercial activity with educational, scientific, cultural or artistic value within the site area.
A guide specifying the rules for use of the two logos will be available in November 2014.
