This meeting, hosted by the French World Heritage Property Association, was held in Reims on 1st and 2nd October 2009, at the invitation of Mrs Adeline Hazan, Mayor of Reims and President of Reims Métropole and Mr Yves Dauge, Senator of Indre-et-Loire and Association Chairman.
The first brainstorming day focused on the theme "
property management and regional project".
The general assembly, which met on 2
nd October, approved the 2009 accounts and policy report
of the Association before confirming the recruitment of a permanent
part-time position to run and coordinate the Association's actions
(this role should be taken up in early 2010).
The Association's three work committees also reported how
their work was progressing.

The "Management Plan" committee thus reviewed
the plan framework currently being tested on 8 pilot sites
(Arles, Pont du Gard, Bordeaux, Saint Emilion, Val de Loire,
Lyon, Reims and the network of Vauban sites). They also declared
that a commitment charter between the State, regional authorities
and property managers would be finalised for the Association's
next general assembly.

The "International Relations" committee ruled on
the work in progress with the OVPM and presented the inventory
work that other national world heritage property associations in
Europe have carried out through the year.

The "Communication" committee raised the current
discussions on defining a communication strategy based on 3 main
work areas: internal communication at the association,
institutional communication/lobbying and general public
communication/tourist promotion. It also gave a progress report
on the Michelin guide project.
The meeting was rounded off with
tours of the main heritage sites in Reims.
At the invitation of the representatives of the Vauban network
and Besançon, the Association's next General Assembly will
take place in Besançon on 6
th and 7
th May 2010.
