The “Vignobles and Découvertes” label was created in 2010 by the Secretary of State for Tourism with the aim of making life easier for tourists in search of viticultural offers and so help develop wine tourism. Chinon Bourgueil Azay, the Layon Valley and the Loir Valley are among the first destinations to be labelled.
The label takes particular account of an area’s offer in terms of wine cellars for tourists, accommodation, and restaurants serving typical regional cuisine combining food and wines, and also in terms of heritage sites and events connected with the local terroir.
The “Wines of Loire Chinon, Bourgueil, Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil and Touraine Azay-le-Rideau” destination, which covers four AOCs, is recognised for its viticultural and tourism heritage.
The destination offers a selection of some forty partner wine cellars for tourists along with fifteen or so accommodation choices and a dozen restaurants.
Project promoted by the Pays de Chinon Tourist Office .
The Layon Valley comprises 44 municipalities whose backbone is formed by the River Layon. The area has built up its identity around two major themes: the Loire and the vineyards.
The destination offers a selection of fifteen or so partner wine cellars for tourists, six accommodation choices, and seven restaurants.
Project promoted by the Loire en Layon Development Agency .
